Abstract: As database professionals, we prefer neat relational data. XML...is not neat relational data, and there are unfortunately many situations where we encounter it. In this session I teach the very basics of working with XML in SQL Server, with a focus on XPath, the methods for applying it, and practical examples with extended events and execution plans.
